Wavelength Color

Wavelength Color

A Poem by Botania
"

Particles will act like waves
photons bend on full display
around and through most anything
as long as nothing's in the way,
as long as nothing's too opaque

Color from the size of waves.
Color me, reflected rays!
Amplitudes determining
peak to peak we're measuring
No two photons are the same
or are they?

Wavelength then, assume we know
giving life as colors grow
be they quick or be they slow
colors then determining
all the joy that life will bring
beneath the sun, so far below
reflecting white from purest snow.

White's comprised of all, we're told
every color that we know
but clouds will settle in, you see
reflected light from fog will be
just a haze and nothing more
scattered mist with water core

Dapple me oh sunlit rays!
Warm my cheek and light my way!
Give to all such ephemeral grace
Wavelengths, amplitudes,
time, and place.
