Rain Like Tears

Rain Like Tears

A Poem by Botania

Try as I might
to be thankful
sometimes the rain is just wet.
It falls on my clothes
or my raincoat
leaving me cold and yet,
we need the rain,
maybe sadness, too
to know what the opposite means.
From all the gifts
that we're given like this
we learn what not to be.

I'm not sure about the ending of this poem, but the beginning is brilliant. "Try as I might to be thankful, sometimes the rain is just wet" is a line I wish I'd thought of.

Hahahaa. It sounds so much better when you say it. Thank you Roland.
