Lily on the Hill

Lily on the Hill

A Poem by Botania
"

The rain lily blooms after each rain.

"
The rocky crag reached out to me
and found my footprints there
Hill and dale before me seek
my tender loving care
But vines of itchy fill the place
so wander there I mustn't
so tenderly a walk I take
thoughts are reminiscent.
Looking for the poisonous leaves,
avoiding leaves of three
memories of its misery
all come back to me.
Searching for the finest gift
won't have far to seek
little lily on the hill
please bloom again for me
After rain you show your face
I find you blooming still
God clothes you in white splendor
kings would dare to seek
How I love you tenderly
my lily on the hill!
Know you're hidden underneath
until I see you still.

This has a sort of Wordsworth feel as you describe this particular genus of lilly in a voice that commands respect for nature.
