ReleaseA Poem by Glenn DavisA summary of why I put it on paper
It feels like most of my life,
Was spent with a gun to my head. This left me with one hand consumed and the other, under pressure I said, It feels like I spent most of my life With a gun pressed firmly against my head Which left me with one hand consumed and the other, it was under pressure. Under pressure with a pen in its grasp Trembling out words Any words Just to relieve the tension on vigilante fingers Of a sweaty palm, ready to squeeze And while others might claim it I whole heartedly make the statement That if I stop writing It would be the very death of me! You see I don't get inspired I scribe under the intimidation of A cold barrel longing to be heated A chamber begging to be emptied The pressure of knowing that If I don't spit out the contents of my mind It, will spit it's contents into it I can never hear the pen click Over the hammer
