Final SurrenderA Poem by GlamGirlKeep holding on...“Come here, come here, Closer, closer” Their words like vines, Snaking tendrils grasping my
fleeing soul. “Stay longer, stay longer, Your time is not done” Voices of gold ring in my ears, Threatening every last ounce of
faith. “We need you, we need you, Please come back” My heartbeat surges, Hands clenched tight. I shall not go! “It’s not over, We’re not going away” My body screams in pain, Thrashing against these mental bindings. “Break free, You cannot.” I will! I will! Muscles cramping, This interior hell has broken
loose. “You can’t stop now, You’re one of us.” I’m not! I’m not! “Hand it over, Keep going, You’re almost there” Another beaten up soul, Another broken heart. “Don’t give up now, Join us, join us” Last screams of life, There’s nothing left. I’m gone. Taken. “You are ours, Another heartless shell” Finished. “Forget everything, You can start over” Given up. © 2011 GlamGirlAuthor's Note
