Similarities

Similarities

A Poem by GlamGirl
"

Do the differences even matter?

"

We all have skin.

My skin is a whitish-tanish color.

We all have hands.

My hands are smooth, but they have some strangely placed calluses from playing my saxophone too much.

We all have thoughts.

My thoughts are usually scattered, and sometimes a little weird. When they are organized inside my mind, I write poetry.

We all have actions.

My actions are lazy, but sometimes crazy.

We all have dreams.

My dreams are my goals for the future. Some of them are a little silly.

We all have role models.

My role models are Adam Lambert, Tim Maynes, Kirsten Anderson, Alayna Hauke, and Kelly Jane just to name a few.

We all have crushes.

My crushes are… well, I’m not going to tell you. For now…

We all have love.

We all have choices of love.

If we fall in love with the ‘wrong people’, does that make us a bad person?

 No.

If someone hates the person that we fall in love with, should they hate us?

 No.

If we are in love with a person who you are not sexually attracted to, does that mean that our love isn’t real?

 No.

Love is real, no matter who you find it in.

We're all human, right?
This poem is something that I feel very strongly about. I am a very strong supporter of LGBT, but the rest of my family unfortunately isn't. At all.
I felt like I had to speak out...

The words are true and powerful. Love don't chose because of race or color. Love come to someone when another excite their soul. Than you for the amazing poetry.

Great poem. I love what you did at the end;

I thought that was really cool. Great poem.

I really like this. You know I feel strongly on the same topic. Just because people think differently, or look, or act differently, does /not/ make them not a person. Like Mr. W said once, (Though this is rather off topic) "When people start throwing around terms like 'Un-American', Run." Mmm, my family does not really seem to care too much, but I still don't dare ask them about this sort of thing anyway.
Good Night and Good Luck.

This poem is very true and I love the unfiltered passion of this write.
You are very right, we are all human and I really loved this poem for addressing those matters.
My best friend is gay so I am also a strong supporter of LGBT and my family isn't too fond of it either.
But anyway I really like this poem.
Wonderful job, I really loved reading this!
