Drunk

Wait... I'm drunk at 13 years old?

 

lying on the floor,

i can’t move.

my body plugged into

an artificial heart,

my ipod.

i am drunk off music.

 

the swollen words

in my mind,

make up the lyrics

that flood my heart.

i am drunk off music.

 

every phrase and stanza

taking away the

pain i feel.

creating an orchestral

shell around me.

i am drunk off music.

 

the love songs and

nightmarish tragedies

in the music

make up my fond memories.

i am so full but

so empty.

 

i am drunk off music.

This poem was written under the influence... of music. Yep. I was listening to music at midnight, and I rolled out of bed to write this poem.

I love this poem because I can relate. I love music. It's my life. I listen to music all the time, when I'm in pain, when I'm happy, etc. So thus, I am drunk of music, is practically my catch phrase. :)

Interesting concept. When I first read the "the love songs and nightmarish tragedies in the music make up my font memories." Part my mind took out 'in the music' and gave it a tune.

Huh, I've never had the urge to write a song before, but now I want to and use that as one of the lines... It has a really nice flow. You know me, I constantly feel like I have a song stuck in my head. So I find this poem very relivent.
