Looking

We're always looking

Looking out the dirty bus windows

into the hot dark night.

 

Looking at the faces

of the teachers

who have taken us this far.

 

Looking into the eyes

of my closest friends,

knowing that I might never

see them again.

 

But most importantly,

looking into my own heart

and discovering myself

as this chapter in my life ends.

After my classmates and I graduated from 8th grade, we took a bus to go our graduation party/dance.
