I Came From A Place

I Came From A Place

A Poem by GlamGirl
"

Childhood is a magical thing

"

I came from a place where no one ever cried.

My mommy and daddy would always

Make it better.

My boo-boos and hurts were healed

By the innocence of childhood.

I came from a place where no one ever died.

My fairy tales always had

Happy endings.

My foolish eyes had never seen

guns. war. violence.

the world.

I came from a place where everything was real.

My baby teeth would fall out alarmingly fast

So that I could maybe catch a glimpse

Of my friend the Tooth Fairy.

My only worry during the holiday season was to

Make the best cookies for

Santa Claus.

I came from a place where I was living my dreams.

My goals were farther than the moon,

And I achieved them.

My mommy told me that I was

Everything.

I was beautiful.

A princess, a fairy, a little girl.

Where am I now?

Childhood is bittersweet, because it's one of the best times of life, the time of innocence, the only worry is not getting to play with your friends or getting some new toy. Bitter because the real world is before you, the horrors of war, disease, poverty, and you're the one who has to clean up the mess. Good poem, brings back good memories.
