Love This Girl

Love This Girl

A Poem by GlamGirl
"

inspired by Love That Boy by Walter Dean Myers

"

Love this girl,

like the sun loves the moon

and in every sunset

I see those dark brown eyes

those dark brown eyes

Wherever I go

She dances like a tree

She sings like a bird

like a bird

So early in the morning

For only my ears to hear

In the waking hours

Her father says she didn’t

Turn out quite right

quite right at all

Mother guards over her

like a hawk

I must watch my steps

She makes big goals to reach

Out there where no one knows her name

said no one knows her name

But running full speed ahead

She chases after what she wants

running full speed ahead
