Story telling

A Poem by gladis

This is just an imaginary poem which i have written for kids.. Hope they would like it

Today we have come here

To talk about a special child

She can be one of you

And her life was a joyful ride.

It all started on a rainy night

When grandma called us close

Light blue eyes and twinkling smiles

And glasses on her nose

Beginning with the famous lines

She gave a grandma pose

Once upon a time, in a land far away

There was a girl named rose

By nature, she was shy

And she tied two nice pleats

Her face was always bright

And she had two dancing feet

Her best friend was her father

With him she went in fields

Her father would say stories

And fulfill all her needs

In childhood, she was happy

Her world was sweet and small

Away from the miseries

She had no worries at all

And as the days rolled

She grew older and older

Her goodness was her strength

And her parents were it’s moulder

At home and in school

She was cared and loved by all

Her friends were very lucky

As she heard their grievous calls

When she asked her father

“Is earth a place of good people?”

Pat came the reply

The heart is the biggest ditcher.

In a voice that smelt like honey

He told her to be righteous

Coz deeds are judged by actions

And not by greed and vices

Although rose was an ideal child

She was at last a human being

And so when there came temptations

Trapped she got in the circular rings

Next day when in school

The teacher announced a test

Rose gave a naughty smile

As she knew, she was the best

Reaching home, she pulled out her books

And memorized all her lessons

A confident rose then went to sleep

Relieved of all her tensions

At the breaking of the dawn

Rose woke up from her sleep

She was excited and happy

For the results she would reap

With the answers in mind

She took her parents blessings

And on her way to school

Held her head high like a king

Sitting on the desk

The paper came in her hands

Glancing at the questions

She then looked at all her friends

In a minute, she got lost

And her heart pumped with great loud

Coz her mind was all swept away

Down she fell from the seventh cloud

A confused rose now looked so pale

As the angel and the devil appeared

They pulled her from both the sides

And she felt she was a coward

The devil with his bright red horns

Roared out in his mighty tone

The answers are just a step away

Peep at them and you would never moan

Then the angel from its side

Looked at rose with compassion, and said

You are god’s special child

And for you his tears have shed

Never ever copy, never do wrong

For bad has its own consequences

Today you will be happy, tomorrow sad

And will be chained in guilty fences

Then the devil looked at the angel

And there started a battle

The devil abused the angel badly

And rose was in a rattle

The angel with its humble voice

Asked the devil to leave her

But the devil would not listen

As it had to accomplish its endeavor

Tired of the dilemma

Tired of the speech

Rose sat there with gloomy eyes

She was not able to speak

I know you all are confused now

The angel and devil are in your mind

But let me tell you their identity

Coz you don’t meet creatures of their kind

Human beings as they are

Are guided by emotions

But what the little girl did not know

Was the presence of her conscience

One good conscience and the other bad

Were playing with her mind

The one that triumphed at the end

Made her leave her values behind

The angel with misty eyes

Gave a loud sigh of grief

And then it vanished from her sight

Like jumping off a cliff

The devil now with rose

Was forcing her to copy

Laughing at her stupidity

It took her under its canopy

But as she leaned herself ahead

The teacher noticed her

With fiery eyes and stick in hand

She hit her hands like fur

Her father was then called

And rose now sat crying

When she saw her father entering

She shouted the others were lying

At this the father broke down

And tears poured out from his eyes

He cried out how ashamed he was

In vain was all advice

The father with a swollen heart

Made a vow at the altar

That, ‘ I will give away my life

If you give me back my daughter’

A magic then was testfied

And rose got on her knees

Her head was at her father’s feet

And she promised never to cheat

And then the angel appeared again

With the light on its face

As goodness had triumphed

In this angel and devil’s race

Realizing the power of her conscience

She made a strong decision

Never in her life she vowed

Would fall in the devil’s temptation

Rose now fully understood

How she can become better

And she with her dear father

Lived happily ever after
