you see me

you see me

A Poem by George turner
"

...

"
I'm hiding
behind walls
built for the sole purpose
of keeping others out
but one by one
they fall to the might
of your beauty
your smile
your eyes
your kindness
your selflessness
your perceveirance
and I am left defenceless
caught like a deer in your headlights
and you look at me
not the man I pretend to be
but the boy hidden behind his silhouette
and when I asked
"why go through so much to see this"
you simply reply
"I love you"
