those three words

how should I respond

do I love you

maybe

I'm fairly find of you

but is that love

you are a good person

are you sure you love me

how can you tell

I search inside myself for answers

hoping to find a way to sum up my feelings

all the while you stare at me expectantly

you just handed me the power to break your heart

why do you look so happy

you say I'm kind

but what have I ever done to make you think that

I'm stubborn

I'm selfish

I'm arrogant

and yet you think the world of me

your kinder than me

humbler than me

your selfless

why would you love me

so I kiss you

in order to hide from you

those three words

they terrify me
