The sun's first kiss

The sun's first kiss

A Poem by Giusy Ferrigno

The sun's first kiss

was given to us

in the coldness of fear

In these days and nights

We - hostages of uncertainty,

prisoners of the emptiness of our silence,

build a new balance.

A new feeling

unwelcoming

incompatible with our restless disposition

In these days and nights

I - fly to you in thought

Thinking of you is an exercise of evasion

from these walls, from these screams

The sun's first kiss

was given to us

in the coldness of fear

In these days and nights

We - discover ourselves near

In distance

Brothers

pulses of the same beating heart

Great metaphors here (hostages of uncertainty/prisoners of the emptiness of our silence)
Also, the contrast between the the "cold/fear" and the "sun/kiss" creates an interesting balance.

I can see the sunrise from my window...
and not feel as alone - knowing others see
the same sun ...rise... and dream just as I.

As you made mine
Poem having multitude of emotions having ray of hope to unleash sun's positivity in our negative life along with a hope of meeting someone who is prevailing in thoughts. Nicely carved poem. Glad to stop by reading your unique masterpiece.
