This  poem  is  unwritten

The  story  untold

But  it’s  a  tale  of  the  centuries

And  you’re  never  too  old

Girl  meets  boy

Romeo  and  Juliet

Head  over  heels

A  day  after  they  met

Secrets  were  they're  enemies

Lies  were  their  downfall

Rumors  were  their  soldiers

But  soon  they  ran  out  of  cannonballs

Lost  in  their  own  war

Lost  in  each  other

They  lost  what  they  valued  most

Their  time  together

Torn  apart

By  the  fate  of  time

Separated  by  so  much

It  should  have  been  a  crime

Through  all  the  fighting  they  never  understood

Just  what  they  were  fighting  for

Now  their  living  their  own  lives

But  they'll  always  want  more

Love is always such a naive undertaking and I think you capture that point rather perfectly in this piece. It's like the sad hallmark card of failed kitten-rainbows-hearts-and-unicorns love.
