My Eternal Heartache

When I was in a dark, depressed time in my life I turned to writing to help me deal and this was the only thing I kept from then.

Of the pieces I've gathered,

Of my broken heart, 

Another piece shatters,

As I fall apart.

In these moments of weakness,

I've found it most simplest, 

To run away from those,

That would notice my symptoms. 

That was a long time ago,

The pain still burns though,

But today I saw a picture of you,

I expected to break down for an hour or two.

Not one tear came to my eye,

cause no matter how hard I try,

You're gone,

I'm alone.

But I will survive to live another day,

With my Eternal Heartache held at bay.
