Seas of Misery

Seas of Misery

A Poem by Nicki

My guardian angel must have gotten lost

For I swear our paths have never crossed

Perhaps they clipped her feathery wings

And stifled the sweet voice with which she sings

Maybe she's tangled in some forest's twisted vines

Misdirected by some disillusioned lines

She must be struggling against some scratchy ropes

For my life is a path of splintered hopes

It's an endless, twisting trail of damaged dreams

In the shattered glass I see my reflections scream

They cry out for my angel whose been led astray

Their spirit crumbles with each passing day

I ponder where my poor angel has gone

As the monsters play on and on

My childhood castles have toppled down

And the phantoms stolen my regal crown

My poor angel and I

We both cry

for a life lost beneath the rolling waves

of an endless sea lacking reprieves or saves

Drowning in waters stained

With misery, sorrow and pain

Thanks so much for taking the time to review!
You write misery well. I know, I write sadness and misery all the time. I have never used a guardian angel before as a means of rescue, hmmmm. I like your style and would like to see more of it.
