Darkness falls

Darkness falls is my own hidden place
where I'm transported to grieve and have my troubles effaced
Looking around I see nothing but shadows

blinded as I am I can still see you there
in my mind helping me heal from despair

I can feel the cold freezing mist from the falls
and it's touching my face and body as I search for an answer
feeling alone once more I start walking slowly carrying nothing but anger
not being afraid of death or disaster

Where am I going I wonder? 
Will my next step be my last?
Will the light arrive and will the darkness pass?
Will the Darkness penetrate my soul?
Does it matter to anyone if I get lost in the falls?

As I drag my feet and hands very carefully I start hearing the sounds
that the shadows are making as they begin making their rounds
awakening from the slumber, I blindly see them staring
awaiting for me to trip and fall preparing

the sound of the falls is drowning all but my own heartbeat
I start feeling lost and head to the sound
to see if I can drown myself out
Please help me get find the correct route
I'm helplessly lost in the falls, where Darkness and shadows
are relentless except where the soil is hallowed

without the mist from the falls and embrace
the light away from the falls or any place
