#1 Con-ArtistA Poem by Virginia L. Wyatt
Excited for the future
Open to the chance
But I didn't see it coming
My sadly failed romance.
Promising and charming
His lying was an art
Love took me on a ride
Then he threw away my heart.
His mind so sharp and cunning
He tells me what I want to hear
And once he'd gotten what he wanted
His love did surely disappear.
I was kicked when I was down
He tore apart my soul
With his painful stabbing words
In my heart there is a whole.
As deceiving as he was
Still I didn't learn
My search for him continues
And still for Love I yearn.
I sit here boldly broken
As I watch the stars above
I was tricked and made a fool
By a con-artist named Love.
