Lost at the Bottom of a Bottle

Lost at the Bottom of a Bottle

A Poem by Virginia L. Wyatt
"

It's about my alcoholic deadbeat dad

"

Lost inside a bottle too deep to escape
Lost in your own dependency
Drowning your mind
Drowning your love
resurfacing only when the contants of the bottle grow shallow
Only to swim back down
You live in this bottle yet you've never seen the bottom
Lost in your bitter home
The only one that you've ever known
Lost in unconscience dreams
Lost chances
Lost Family
Lost love
