The bull attack

The bull attack

A Poem by Nirmala
"

This happened when I was a little girl and I was reminded of it as I happen to visit the place again.

"

                           The bull attack

They said it was the temple bull

Broke his chain and ran amok

Charging down a small hillock

Three little girls in pinafores

Saw the dust as it rose above

Hooves, horns and blazing eyes

Their little legs not fast enough

Mine turned jelly and I fell

Into a thorn bush who could tell

The harm those horns might inflict

Came nearer and nearer to my face

We stared and then he turned away
