My AirplaneA Poem by gillianwilliams52
Won’t you stay and play with me? Said the wind to the fly I’ll keep you aloft, high and free Close your eyes and try To see my face, my mischievous glee.
I can show you my playful side As I caress and soothe your fragile wings I can spin you far and wide, Relax and ignore the gently sting Of the rain, for it too likes the ride.
Hailstones are a pain, I know Just keep out of their way They’re hardheaded and a little lowbrow Too heavy for play, I’m not sure why I keep them around.
But you, man you’re great! I can do what I want The downdrafts are the best with your weight Just don’t let your eyes bug out OK! I’ll try not to do that again.
Seriously, you’ve got to relax, go with the flow I’ll introduce you to my friends Don’t shake lightening’s hand though Weird guy, hides a lot and then, Pops out of nowhere; I swear he’ll give me a stroke!
My wife is great, a tad vain She’s busy now, swirling around With her cloudy skirts and perfect rain. My in-laws are odd though I mean, who names their daughter Hurricane?
I had a great time today! How about we do this again, but at night? Are you OK? Did I talk you to death? You can finally meet my wife Come on! Don’t be like that! Was it my breath? © 2013 gillianwilliams52Author's Note
