Fate or Luck?

Fate or Luck?

A Poem by Gilad Levanon
"

Tuesday night ramblings...

"
We live in a world reduced
A world in which our pursuits of knowledge have forgotten
the mystery by which they were seduced

Our methods today are often initiated
with an intention to complete an understanding
of something that existence has created

But there are no complete understandings
for existence is infinite in every direction
and there is more to be explored from all new landings
then can ever be comprehended when anything is not regarded as a section
A section of an infinite whole
but a whole nonetheless
A whole that is an endless sea of eternal soul

If all was cause and effect
we'd always be able to figure out what's next
We'd be able to calculate the future
with equations and extrapolations along a linear suture

But we can never account for everything
because there is always something random
Always something unexpected and exciting
so most predictions we must abandon

And yet the random that could destroy us
within any perspectival sliver of a moment
somehow chooses not to and thus
we begin to learn to trust
that an apocalyptic meteor will not onto our surface be thrust

Luck and fate
can cause
love and hate
but they are both random
or at least unpredictable
and they both can teach us
to exist in tandem

None of this means life should be left to chance
It simply says that life should be a dance
Not a static existence in some predetermined stance
So we may learn to play with our time
and in this way see that the random is divine
