Song of the Susurrus

Song of the Susurrus

A Poem by Gilad Levanon
"

An ode to the melody that is nature.

"
A glimmering gurgle
Of a morning songbird
A shimmering warble
Of a mournful owl

The feathery rustling
Of wind in the foliage
The leathery scuffling
Of little feet on a pebbled path

I'm learning to listen
To the subtle song of the susurrus
My eyes begin to glisten
As I immerse myself in the whispering
Of nature's spirits

To hear their sacred teachings
One must only listen
Listen to the ethereal melody
Of the world obscured
By the discordant thoughts
Of a fearful mind

Then does the song of the susurrus
Begin to reveal its' intricate perfection
Then does the song of the susurrus
Begin to deal its' infinite affection

A clear discernment between speech and thought. Knowing the difference can save your life at some point. A beautiful write. On the subject of hearing, ' susurrus' in sanskrit phonetics is a reference to milk and milk qualities. They are indeed our infinte affection in the world.

Passionate and speaks of subtle beauty, the kind that is all around. We only have to stop, listen and absorb what has been laid out before us. Well written, and beautifully versed.

A beautiful poem. I had to look up the words too. Susurrus is a good word. Nice to know peace and quiet of nature. I like the complete poem. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.
