Song of the SusurrusA Poem by Gilad LevanonAn ode to the melody that is nature.
A glimmering gurgle
Of a morning songbird A shimmering warble Of a mournful owl The feathery rustling Of wind in the foliage The leathery scuffling Of little feet on a pebbled path I'm learning to listen To the subtle song of the susurrus My eyes begin to glisten As I immerse myself in the whispering Of nature's spirits To hear their sacred teachings One must only listen Listen to the ethereal melody Of the world obscured By the discordant thoughts Of a fearful mind Then does the song of the susurrus Begin to reveal its' intricate perfection Then does the song of the susurrus Begin to deal its' infinite affection
