Synchronous EyesA Poem by Gilad LevanonA man's thoughts before he gets hit by a truck. When once I did believe in
luck, Did I remain utterly
unstruck, Then did I fear the oncoming
truck, Oh how terrible then was my
luck, When once I did believe in
coincidence, Did I move irritably from
instance to instance, Then did I live life without
seeing its’ brilliance, Oh what an unfortunate
coincidence, Then the truck did hurtle
towards me, And at first did I fear it
completely, For then was I about to leave
my life of randomnity, And in that moment I wanted
only to see, The reason for my
misfortune, An oh how I wanted it soon, Then did I switch to a
different tune, Then did my mind escape in
an invisible balloon, I did now see the world and
no longer did I despise, For I had opened a pair of
synchronous eyes, And in that moment I did
banish all my lies, And then they were not
sorrowful cries, I did learn to see the
delicate plan, That was hatched before
there was man, I did learn the way all
courses ran, And the way they were all
part of the plan, I did see how all of
everything, Had brought me to the point
of living, In exactly the appropriate
timing, Suddenly the world was
rhyming, It was all a tapestry of
perfection, Designed to teach us love’s
true affection, But here’s the amusing
secret section, It’s that perfection does
lie in imperfection, When once I did believe in
fate, Did I learn then never to
hate, Then did I embrace that soon
I would be late, Oh how beautiful is my fate, When once I did believe in
synchronisity, Did I move step by step so
graciously, Then did I live life seeing
only beauty, Oh how wonderful is synchronicity, © GILAD LEVANON 2011 © 2011 Gilad LevanonAuthor's Note
