CallieA Poem by ClarityDescriptive analysis of self when left to one's own devicesCallie was a cobra ready to pounce on its unsuspecting prey Her arms were octopus tentacles flailing about in the wind While her fingers were twiggy branches scratching and clawing the air Callie was a fire breathing dragon on Prozac dreaming of candy floss Her nostrils were bagpipes heaving like a hippopotamus on heat dancing in the mud Her legs were totem poles imbedded with bristly fibres of spun wool Callie was a volcano spewing lava upon unsuspecting life Her mouth was a growling bear about to rip its prey to shreds Her ears were large elephant flaps trimmed in the shape of umbrellas Callie was a tornado at high speed ripping through a rainforest Her teeth were sharp spikes of granite and marble festooned in sludge Her lips were balloons filled with methane gas about to explode Callie was a fumbling, bumbling mole digging in the dirt with its snout Her toes were eagle’s talons sharpened on the back of an armadillo Her belly was a rubber boat of jelly floating on the high seas Callie was a blimp that blotted out the sun during an eclipse Her hair was strands of seaweed tangled with debris from a spill Her back was a humpback whale arched while giving birth Callie was a dinosaur with carpet moss stuck in its teeth Her smile was a wide open gash on a fat man’s arm Her voice was a rusty iron bell with the clanger missing Callie was a lucky dip prize with no wrapping on it Her height was the length of a ruler snapped in two Her girth was a wormhole sucked out of strength Callie was a two tonne truck with no brakes in reverse Callie was a figment of my imagination against the world Who only appeared when I vanished into thin air Callie is my backup
