The Art of War

The Art of War

A Poem by Dimitrios Alexopoulos

The Art of War

Don't go to War

if you go to War  you are already dead

you kill your dreams inside a sealing blanket that can't absorb nightmares

your have a scheduled laughter now- entropy is winning rapidly

your handshake  is weaker as you remember the last words of your friend in the field

his mother is your mother and you feel as a brother to all

you want to cry stop but your ticket is already used

you have drop so much water from the fountain of your eyes that a river has been born

perhaps you feel responsible in some way

you are not

you can't hold the world in your solders- but you need to -there is an inner duty to prevent others from dying

you saw what man can do

how easy unblinking  eyes look at you breathless

you smell loss

you want to open your arms and give a hug but you can't -there is no  space anymore

Don't go to War

That's the Art of War
