A Poem by ghostshot

Light, from amber colored glass
Shining through ghost town bottles
Red and white
Flashing past on the highway
Dreaded roads
An entire life, spent
Where did they all go...
Where did they come from
How many turns
Sweeping past sand dunes
Looking out the side window
Mile...after mile
The change
Of leaving little pieces of yourself
In a total of little places

Which favorite spot
Brings back the most
That sense
That shakes to your core
Which familiar existence
Takes back the most
The essence
That takes your inner soul

Then, an innocent life
Pulls you back to ground
Chases away all those...ghosts
Makes you lose your train of thought
Until you realize
You where already there
Pen to paper
Heart to soul
It's all in the same ink
