Still No Title:

Still No Title:

A Poem by ghostshot

Sorry folks, still in some turmoil here...but I did talk with an old friend:

There's no sleep tonight
Hearing your voice, brought it all back
You sound the same, as three years ago, as thirty years ago

Tossing, turning, to try for sleep, tonight
I see it as yesterday
Bet, you look the same, as yesterday, as I see it

Where were we then
As we were, yesterday
Young, with all before us as our oyster

No sleep tonight
Just as yesterday
There was no sleep, yesterday, either

Running around as if there would be no end
Able to do anything, invincible
Now, a smoked oyster

The hope to see you, once again
Some meaning to the hazy afternoons, we shared
To finally rest this heart, we shared

No sleep tonight
Your voice...my thoughts
Maybe, an embrace on the horizon

Hopeful thinking
Wishful thinking
For so many years

Some sleep...
...your voice
My name, next to my number, you said, on your phone

John, it is so good to see you and read your work again. It has been sometime, old friend.
This was wonderfully worded. A bit of excitement, a bit of hope and perhaps... Just perhaps...
And I am sorry I missed it when you first posted it..
There is always time for dreams, Dear. :)
