In the Dirt:

In the Dirt:

A Poem by ghostshot

Just as the tear streaks on a smudged face
The scars on a smudged heart
Gradual loss of soul
From looking to the horizon
The yearning, remembrance, regret
Passing, of one time having a sharper view
To realization, of not having a clear view, when needed the most
So many years of glossy eye
Of dull, gray, inner eye

The bones ache
The heart ache
The relinquished soul
Oh, to only reclaim some piece
Reclaim some peace
Soon, when finally rest
Play requested songs
To show the meaning of this soul
Allowing others...to not make the same mistakes

So good so see you in here sir! And you gave us a wonderful piece to make your entrance! Looking forward to many more of them! "So many years of glossy eye/ Of dull, gray, inner eye" You always touch on such deep emotions with simple, carefully chosen words... Well done!
