SeasonsA Poem by Ghost Seasons Spring comes to life as the
flowers pop with a rainbow of colors, where the trees bloom to life, And the days start to get
longer, start to get warmer as the scent of lilac dances upon the breeze, The birds will sing, the bees
will buzz, the awakened sun will peek out from behind the clouds, Unless you live in Ohio where
Mother Nature plays practical jokes with leftover snowflakes. Summer is a time for swimming,
a time for fun - summer with the smell of fresh cut grass, Star filled nights and sunrays
kissing bare skin, where the days get longer, the nights get shorter, A time for barbecues and cold
beer, it’s hot days and lemonade, it’s birds singing and children playing, It's clean air, blue skies,
state fairs and fireworks in the dark, summer a time for being outdoors. Fall or Autumn with its flurry
of leaves floating to the ground - pooled in piles of rebellious colors, As the winds share a cool
chilly bite, and the birds have flown south before the transition of colder
weather, Let’s not forget about the
pumpkin patches and the apple cider, where the acorns drop from weary trees, There will be earthy scented
mornings teasing my senses, leaving me spellbound by the aroma of burning wood.
Winter will steal my breath
away with its bitter cold icy fingers, consuming me in its frigid blast, Days become filled with gray
and the hills are adorned in glittering, shimmering white snow, The dead heavy branches hang
low in silent shame, restless in the harsh, unapologetic weather, I will stand sadly by the
window dreading Jack Frost nipping as I step outside into winter.... 4/5/2018 © 2018 GhostFeatured Review
