Imprinted Upon

Imprinted Upon

A Poem by Ghost

Imprinted Upon

I am an avid dreamer and writer,

My words tell stories that are heart felt,

Sometimes I write my thoughts like a madman,

So that I can convey each line with complete need.

I bare my conscience with a sense of imaginative disguise,

There is a display, a dimension of extravagant complexity,

As it is a metaphorical storm of fairy-tales and magic,

And a mix of dark emotions, entangled with romance.

As a poet, I'm sometimes overwhelmed with ideas, with thoughts,

Trying to bring my words to life, to get them to breathe,

Scattering hopes, realities, sometimes painful tragedy,

Creating anticipated memories that free my soul.

I let my mind settle from all anxiety,

As I inscribe a poem of the first look, the first kiss, the first time,

Snippets of my heart flowing freely from my pen,

Written, forever imprinted upon the flesh of my muse,

Shall be a four-letter word, splashed in ink upon her thigh...
