Shackles Of

A Poem by Ghost

Shackles Of

The unfortunate pain and anguish of a heartbroken man,

Whose journey winds up the same over and over again,

He distances himself for so many different reasons,

Unfortunately, and endlessly, his heart got broken.

Love was an exaggerated life,

Weary because it could never work,

A confused ripple effect never to be salvaged,

Because of vaporous vows that soon vanish.

Final scraps of lies compounded from more lies,

Cracks trailing down the center of his world,

Two sides, went astray in a liquefied home,

Where abandoned dreams and manipulated memories,

All have condemned this man’s future.

Two rings, two hearts, pawns in a battle to be alone,

Does the wound ever heal from the scabs of divorce?

From pointing fingers and debilitating accusations,

All regrets from the shackles of many unfulfilled love...
