Salted TearsA Poem by Ghost Salted Tears Look into eyes that once held compassion, now harboring sadness, Listen to the words that once were sweet, now echoing sharp, Feel a touch that was once gentle, now sadly lifeless, See a man who was warm and loving, now left angry and bitter. I once had a smile to go along with my happiness, my joy, There now is weakness, vulnerability, raw pain, and frustration, Look closely and see my flaws, see the scars left on my heart, my
soul, Broken doesn't even show how far I have fallen in to this darkness. I am damaged - the person I was has been filled with wear and tear, The years of emotional turmoil have left me with no escape from my
mind, When I try to sleep, agony and nightmares awaken me to hollow
emptiness, In my splintered sanity I am naked, exposed, slipping into the depths
of isolation. My confidence, my dignity, my security all too far beyond repair, The demons held captive inside cannot be suppressed for long, Before they suffocate all that resides, all that lives within me, So once again look into my eyes and see the tainted clarity etched
with salted tears.... 2/13/2018 © 2018 GhostReviews
