Fall

Fall

A Poem by Ghost

Fall

I never knew how it felt to stumble over the edge,

To disappear into the darkness, bare and cold,

Where I become shrouded in anxiety and increasing fear,

Sooner or later I was bound to slip,

And drop into the depths of sudden realization.

Now the cinders of my denial, have become my timeless perception,

Where hesitantly I will embrace the silence from within,

As I walk numbly in the endless footsteps of my wandering thoughts,

But before it’s too late, I will reach out in quiet desperation,

And embrace the dangers of my troubled soul.

I do not stand a chance in this mystery of life,

As I drop into the frenzied fires of my rotting ruins,

Plunged towards the ragged rocks of life,

But I come now to the end of the line, where no-one can save me,

It is with great reservation that I'd rather not fall...
