Heart and Soul

If a man loves a woman, he will love her, heart and soul,

He will never choose or judge her by her stretch marks,

Nor will he beg her to enlarge or augment her breasts,

No matter what, he needs to truly desire and want this woman.

This man needs to take her whole or not at all,

He should never let her feel insecure, or hopeless,

Or make her think that she must have a perfect body, or a round butt,

He should never bully her or compare her physically with anyone else.

When he sees his woman naked, he should love her to the core,

He should never let her feel ashamed, or feel she is fat,

Never tease or insult her about old wounds, or scars,

He should embrace her flaws with love and passion.

No, there is no such thing as perfect,

But he should help her to know that she is perfect to him,

And who cares what images the world has of beauty,

He should love her as is and show her he is not lying or teasing her,

But helping her understand that she is enough,

Even though she is a work in progress, she is God's beautiful art work.

This does go right with it! I love it so beautiful. That's the thing isn't it. The worlds standards make no sense and don't appeal to most. So the one we choose we need to love most everything about them; I say most because we are human and cannot completely love it all. But it's because we whole heartily love that 99.9% we can easily forget the .1. This is beautiful and same goes for the Men out there!

In this poem, you list many of the ways women can be judged. Even tho I feel you've chosen wisely in this way, supporting your positive message, I would prefer to see such lessons shared in a way where more positive ideas are described, instead of a negative slam about the prevalent negativities all over society. This might sound twisted, but every time you mention something that's wrong with a woman, instead of sounding like a positive thing to say, it comes across as sounding the old drumbeat of judgmental approaches. When you say: "Don't call her fat" -- this is just a way to say that she is indeed fat, but you shouldn't call it out. It's a negative message, even tho I know you're trying to deliver a positive message. It would be more convincing if you said something like this: "Her dimpled thighs make me smile" -- don't even use the word "fat" or "fake breasts" or "stretch marks" or "scars" becuz it feels like you're just piling on the same s**t that's been piled on for years. I'm sorry I can't be more supportive of what you're saying here . . . . I agree with your intent, but it just doesn't come across for me (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
