Silence in the GroundA Poem by ghostofedgarThe silence stretched on eternally, until it was broken here and now.The grave whispers to me: “You missed me, did you not?” I have nothing to say back. I lay there silently for a bit and then quietly ask myself, “Why am I so alone?” Like he hears me, the grave whispers back: “That, my good friend, is a secret to all. It is one secret that you have brought to me.” Is that why I love the grave so much? Is that the reason that he is my one soul mate? The reason that I was so eager to meet him? The grave does not judge. The grave does not tell. The grave speaks to you with understanding and kindness, objectively affirming every action and every choice with all the understanding of the world. I know that for eternity, we will be the best of friends. © 2012 ghostofedgarReviews
