Restless MemoriesA Poem by sammyjOld forgotten love dies hard.Ghostly silhouettes, of your breathtaking beauty, whispering to me within my exhausted slumber, tossing me into a ricocheting storm of blankets and wonder,
Surrounding me with the foggy world of our ancient lost romance, stumbling along miles of torched dilapidated bridges, groaning with the unbearable weight of the agonizing pain of forgotten promises, draping like overgrown moss above the void of an empty future, staring up at me with your enigmatic eyes,
Dizzied by whirlwinds of haunted emotions, at the remembrance of your lips on mine,
Lightning bolt glances of unblosomed love, trampled by unmitigating circumstances, masquerading as stampeding horses through a valley of dead dreams,
With the early morning light, my restless roaming fades leading me away from you leaving a trail of regret and tears,
Knowing, with closed eyes, in my dark nights, I again, will be summoned to search, for the calm peace of goodbye. © 2015 sammyj |
