passing days

passing days

A Poem by Ghiasquared
"

In memory of Isaac...

"
as each new dawn brings pain
filtered through broken dreams
those that have been close
are gone from our touch

the gentle rain may allow us to dwell
and the tears wash away
the day is cleansed upon this mist
as our soul releases the pain

friends and family gather
trying to fill the void
though the soul is almost empty
the gift of memories will remain

the sun brightens the day
just as a smile or laugh
we can savor those precious memories
and upon the breeze hear distant laughter

with the fall of eve
we are reminded of the departed
as they left footprints
upon the shores of our hearts

always the new day will come again
and with it a new chance to cherish
the dream of what was to be
and the love that shall always live
