Treasured sea

Treasured sea

A Poem by Ghiasquared

The creak of sodden boards in motion,
Dank, salty air invades the slumbers of crew,
The night still awash with silvered waves,
A man wheels through black inked seas,

A cry awakes with thrilled temper,
Treasure fuels the motion of men,
Ricochet of bodies crushed upstairs,
Bounty awaits for only moments,

Shouts command the nets away,
Quiet ensues for lady luck,
Eternities walk upon the minds of men,
Restless fellows share in whispered wishes,

The net of wonder is pulled on board,
Eyes widened at lusted haul,
The net opens with flood of sea,
Shouts relieved with abundant haul,

Work begins as ship turns to home,
Musty docks with families awaiting,
Wifes run to gather the news,
A shout arises above frenzied den,

"Tonight we feast on Poseidon's bounty!"
