You

You

A Poem by Ghiasquared

Reflections of Venus in twin mirrors,
As I gaze upon reason for being,
Undeserving of my relished partner,
The only true friend there ever was,

Many friend and foe have tried to sever,
Our bond of soul and sacred love,
Yet I awake each day blessed once more,
As my life is graced again with you,

Vows of sacrament bind us as mates,
Children shared with mutual affection,
Though my family in all I give,
It is you that own my heart,

As you peruse my passion in verse,
Know the devotion the words contain,
And as tears of emotion flow from you,
I kiss them away with loving embrace,

The center of my universe lives within you,
Without you to slake my thirst I wither,
Every moment a precious gift,
Every embrace a favorite dessert.
