Drinking dreams

Drinking dreams

A Poem by Ghiasquared

Spanish moss dancing in nights shadow,
Along this river so tranquil and calm,
Death awaits in red eye-shine,
Along these muddied banks,

The song of the marsh orchestra,
Pulsing with hypnotic taunt,
Air weighted with blood sucking foe,
Swimming through sticky heat,

Drifting through this untouched bounty,
The swarm of man subdued,
Smell the freedom of these waters,
Dreaming in your world of steel,

Around the bend is destination awaiting,
Silvered springs of water pure,
Tarzan once swam this pleasured liquid,
Days forgotten long ago...

This sounds like a daydream through the Mississippi River Delta and the marshes of Louisiana. I can see the moss hanging from the trees and the protruding roots that look like knees. lol
