Coming to reek havoc today,

Screaming breath rips home apart,
Memories swirl in thundered rain,
Family together in useless rampart,
Explosion of wind brings screams of pain,

Blinding maelstrom of wicked storm,
Deafening roar of natures demon wind,
The fury dies as quickly as it was born,
So many lives gone, so many to mend,

Gruff dirty figures bark and shout,
As rubble is sifted for life,
Total destruction brings fears and doubt,
Hope for survivors dims with light,

Taking shifts throughout the inky black,
Determined to recover all of the dead,
A cry is heard as boards shift and snap,

Rubble removed shows brown-eyed fear,
Bruised and scared a child is found,

Clutching fireman in firm grip,

So this appears to be about a natural disaster like a tornado or something,
but I suppose if you look at it in an abstract sense it could be about life in general.
One way or another; this is a excellent write.
Great rhyme scheme and use of words.
I like the hope this brings.
