Empty Success

Empty Success

A Poem by Ghiasquared

The thankful smiles no longer brighten the dimness,
The dank corridors of this success are empty,
Memories of meaningless triumphs,
Thoughts of yearning untaken paths.

Today flows rushing to the emptiness,
No more do the mornings bring bright eyes,
With the endless nights bringing self-doubt,
Only the final exhaustion brings rest.

Yet peace seems but a distant memory...
