Those days

Those days

A Poem by Ghiasquared

While lost in today's shimmering dream,
One finds pause to hear the echo of the past,
When the neighbors were friends,
And violence was limited to the news,
Our children learned the important things from us,
And everything else seemed so innocent,
Days gone by and forgotten to most,
Yet memories well up in daydreams,

Those cherished days of past...

For what it's worth, although I'm too young to have lived through those days, I get what you mean, and this poem does those thoughts justice.
