Love lost

Love lost

A Poem by Ghiasquared

The phone awakens from sleep
Blurred brain barely understands
Conversation belies trouble deep
Sanity holds on by a strand

Foggy dream of unwinding road
Flashes of death through tears
Heart racing ready to explode
Engine screams slamming gears

Foreboding castle of healing
Searching frantically to and fro
Bedside hands clasped and kneeling
Possible outcomes no one knows

Frantic repairs of flesh and blood
Confusion of sounds obscure
Emotions fill soul in flood
Angel laying soft and pure

Commotion stops in conclusion
Sea of forlorn faces part
Soul-mate in death seems illusion
Weeping moment of broken heart

Soft caress against pale cheek
Memories remembered of bliss
Heart and soul turning bleak
Lips brushing with one last kiss.

L.L. has frenetic energy that conjures up a wide range of emotional urgency.
There's so much imagery that fills the page. I like the short jagged sentences
that paint the woebegone circumstances of lost love. The 1st verse truly sets
the tone of LL. My favorite lines are:"Heart racing ready to explode..Engine screams slamming gears"... & "Frantic repairs of flesh & blood" & "Emotions fill soul in flood" Loved the 3rd verse especially...
Bravo!
