Knowing me is like visiting a castle
You walk my halls to see who I am
Where I've been and what I'm about

If this is all you see then you are blind
Only in the secret passages will you find me
For I hide in the dank corners

My soul is open to those that seek
It will take effort to truly know
Only a friend would work that hard

The surface belies what you wish to see
Underneath is the true self
I beseech you in kind

Never shall I confess to know
All that makes you who you are
Until I have found that underneath

Let us walk together
Through these dark places
Together we shall understand
Our common bond
