This is about misery, hope, doubt and fear. The underlying fear that things can change and catch you unprepared for it.

Seasons

Once I was shivering

The Sun came out and warmed my body

So I forgot about being cold

and took the Sun for granted

Winter came and stayed

bringing back with it the cold

Over time I forgot what it was like

to be warm

I accepted the dark and cold

as if they were my friends

and I shared with them

my thoughts and discarded wishes

Then one distant day the Sun returned

bright and warm and beautiful

I started to dream

that wishes could come true

I shed all the things

collected to protect me

from the dark and cold

when the Sun had gone

I bathed in the glory

of the once forgotten warmth

until the first cloudy day

brought with it doubt

An all consuming doubt

That Summer was over

That Winter was approaching

That I was caught unprepared

A lovely poem indeed!
I think the verses are very beautifully organised, but I can't help wondering:
Where are spring and autumn?

However, if they were there it would ruin the metaphor a little.
And that would be awful!
Well done! :)
