RelfectionsA Poem by GloLooking at life from the sidelines
REFLECTIONS ON LIFE
I flew to the Sun that had warmed my cold heart
after it had been broken
I saw my heart was slowly healing
scars left as a reminder
I drowned in the ocean of my tears
only to find myself learning how to swim
above and through the pain called life
growing stronger and less naive
I climbed a mountain overlooking my soul,
saw my thoughts swaying gently in the breeze
to the collective music of love
I have been fortunate to have received
I sat in the meadow of my deepest desires
with my eyes closed
to avoid disappointment
of opportunities lost
I knelt before God
bowed my head
ashamed to ask for anything
when everything had already been given
I retreated back into myself
to a familiar place
pondered all I had seen
and stayed there
Looking out from my window
I see life living itself
It is very beautiful
out there.
